JOB SCOPE:

  • Administrative management of invention disclosure up to the patent filing.

  • Preparation of all administrative pre-requirements and documents for filing patent applications worldwide including French, European and International (PCT) patent applications in support of internal patent attorneys based in France, USA, Singapore, China and Italy.

  • Proficient in relevant patent filings tools, such as EPO online 2.0, EPOLINE and WIPO portals, ePCT, E-Procedure etc.

  • Monitor and ensure all official & internal deadlines are meet, proactively following up with internal stakeholders and external service providers, as necessary.

  • Monitoring and active support for filing the responses relative to official notifications before EPO office as well as the sending of instructions to our foreign agents in support of our internal patent attorneys.

  • Processing administrative patent information in our IP Group Management System:

  • Daily docketing in a timely manner respecting internal guidelines.

  • Creation and e-storage of all IP files as well as all IP documents.

  • Preparation of deadlines schedulers for one or several Patent Counsels.

  • Ability to proactively think and plan ahead for deadlines and meetings.

  • Good understanding ofall notifications/communications received from Patent Offices and all external communications received from our IP Law firms.

  • Prepare and manage formal documents such as power of attorney forms and inventor declarations and assignments.

NETWORK OF INTERACTION:

INTERNAL :

  • Global IP Department personnel, inventors, agents, and outside counsel

  • Regular meetings with internal patent attorney based in France/China/Singapore, USA and Italy.

EXTERNAL :

  • Established communication with our preferred and referenced IP LAW providers

  • Communication with patent offices all over the world and especially in France and Europe

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Educational Background in Patent law : BAC+2 in Law (DUT Carrières Juridiques), ideally obtaining a Patent Administrative Certificate (e.g. CAB issued by INPI or EPAC certification issued by EPO)

  • At least 5 years of experience in an Industry or in an IP Law Firm

  • High level of patent administrative rules for EP/US/PCT/CN at least

  • Solid experience with Microsoft software packages

  • Experience with Unycom IPMS will be a plus to have

  • High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ease of interacting in an international professional environment and good team spirit

  • Fluent in English
