Position: Operations Manager

Location: Amata, Chonburi

Reporting Manager: Plant Director

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In concert with the organizations strategic goals and objectives, drives the following:

EH&S

  • The safety objectives that apply to Production functions as set out by the Safety Leadership Team.

  • Project activity from TOTL’s EH&S Specialist, including ISO 14001 compliance.

  • ISO14001 Environmental Management Representative.

  • Compliance will all EH&S SOPs as they pertain to Production.

  • Participant to the Safety Leadership Team and the Steering Committee.

HR

  • The maintenance and deployment of Rules & Regulations for all employees, including Bonus and Recognition Programs.

  • Ensures a learning environment for all staff and team members, from IT applications (MFG, Corvu, and Microsoft Products) through to production (i.e., Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions)

  • Actively participates in the development of the TOTL organisation via selection, orientation, and training; provides candidates for future requirements, if needed by other departments.

  • Promotes safety awareness and compliance with company and local recommendations.

  • Coordinates all manning requirements and scheduling for production.

IT

  • Supports integrated IT links within the TOTL facility, i.e., MFG and the Quality System.

  • Ensures compliance with policies on proper use of IT networks

Production & Quality

  • Ensures that quality systems are complied with for an efficient plant operation, i.e., lens inspection, PC and HC process checklists, through to finished goods packaging.

  • Keeps global management aware of manufacturing-related issues that might affect product launch dates or availability. Participates in Global Teams as required.

  • Enforces proper troubleshooting and analytical practices for data collection and process outcomes.

  • Verifies proper analysis of data in order to assist with process development and/or quality issues.

  • Drives TOTL Production to conform to the latest ISO standards for quality and environmental systems.

  • Provide a monthly summary for the end of the month that includes the main actions and highlights of the month.

Production & Logistics

  • Through the Superintendents and Coordinator staff, maintains the efficient flow of lenses through production.

  • Together with the Supply Chain and Engineering teams, ensure a balanced and fluid daily production plan based on complexity per line.

  • Supervises the plant performance of volume produced, yields, good lenses to inventory, volume complete on time to Logistics, and production turn-around time.

  • With the appropriate departmental support, supports the investigation of customer complaints in a timely manner and determines corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.

  • The incumbent is responsible for developing a working knowledge of logistics systems, product knowledge, order and production flow, process, terms and unique customer requirements, and product/market developments.

Engineering

  • Ensure Production Engineers and Technicians sustain production process consistency.

  • Evaluates plant output and proposes improvements (modifications or additions) to materials or processes, as required. Reviews proposals from Engineering Function.

  • With support from the Facilities & Maintenance Teams, ensures that production maintenance on all plant equipment is adequate to meet planned production volumes.

Finance

  • With the Finance & FP&A Managers, drives compliance with PPG and Essilor policy and procedure (e.g., PPG Internal Control Standards and Practices, ICSP).

  • Enforces ethical practices in purchasing and all other business aspects of TOTL.

  • Complies with monthly reporting, business strategy data/documentation, and annual budget/LRP preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree qualifications in Engineering or in a related engineering disciplines.

  • Ideally possess five (5) years experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Experience in high technology, semi-automated, production environment.

  • Must have practical experience in interfacing with other key functions – Engineering, Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Logistics, and Facilities/ Maintenance.

  • Computer literate in Microsoft products, MFG, and Corvu.
