Context :

A new automation design office is created in Créteil within the Global Lens Innovation Deployment group, to leverage and develop existing experts’ team, to provide industrial equipment and automation solutions for the group lens Operations (Innovation, Mass Production, Rx), and to be in proximity with process experts such as surfacing, hardcoat, multicoat, edging, mounting, packing, final control, vision, manufacturing cost, flow optimization, quality capabilities.

Composed of at least 6 people, the team will be operational in 2024 on the priorities set by the lens industrial roadmap and will collaborate very closely with the automation design offices from Agordo, Bangkok, China, and from the regions, with whom they will share the same standards.

Your future job (Mission):

You are passionate about industrial automation, seek efficiency above all, see yourself as an expert capable of designing innovative and disruptive machines, and of integrating a small team of engineers in robotics, mechanics, and electricity.

Expanding your internal network within GLI, operations, central functions, and to new geographies, is decisive for you.

You are an experienced mechanical design engineer willing to,

  • Build turnkey automated systems, prototypes to prove out concepts for project deployment, fixtures, tools, grippers, conveyor systems using necessary tools and programs.

  • Produce tolerance and dimensioned manufacturing drawing and system layouts.

  • Creates comprehensive build plans for the mechanical assemblers to accurately build to print.

  • Develop and release bill of materials including stock material and commercials to purchasing.

  • Lead and support the 3D printing systems for concept gripper tooling trials through to final design.

  • Manage and produce contract specifications for suppliers and contractors to quote and work from.

  • Develops innovative solutions for automation problems and shows problem solving abilities.

  • Observe all safety rules, applicable regulations, and relevant ISO standards.

  • Ensure compliance and maintenance of SOPs and technical documentation.

  • Communicate clearly with the project team, demonstrates conflict resolution skills, and collaborate with multiple internal and external partners.

  • Evaluate and troubleshoot automation when problems arise during commissioning and propose recommendations for resolving equipment issues.

This position will interest:

  • Educational Background, Technical Skills, and Professional knowledge :

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar.

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical machine design in an industrial context.

  • Proficient with Solidworks 3D and 2D CAD package, and FEM analysis.

  • Strong culture of industrial robotic and AGV applications.

  • Knowledge in mechanical parts calculation and selection:

  • Material selection and treatment

  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

  • Machine safeguarding

  • Implementation of electrical and pneumatics components

  • Machining tool and equipment

  • Project Management

  • Additional optional skills in automation:

  • Programmable Logic Control

  • Vision System

  • You have built a solid experience as a Project Manager for projects related to Industrial Automations and Robots.

  • You are passionate about the technology trends to enable Automations processes and outcomes.

  • You have strong facilitation and communication skills; you can present information to all levels of the organization.

  • You are fluent in Italian or French, and English.

  • You are available to move abroad.
