Job Summary

This senior role within Walman Information Services performs business critical work in planning, assigning and directing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne design, development, configuration, implementation and operations. Based on an in-depth understanding of the JD Edwards application toolkit and related technologies, directly manages internal and third-party programming and business/systems analysts to provide application development, functional configuration, system operations and Tier 2/3 helpdesk support. Serves as a technical and operational subject matter expert for JD Edwards and related technologies. Assists in the definition and implementation of enterprise strategies to effectively deliver enterprise solutions, manage security risks, and optimize day-to-day operations.

Job Duties

Management

  1. Lead the ERP Team and third-party resources to provide outstanding systems, configuration, development and support services

  2. Hire, train and develop ERP Team members to create an environment in which individuals can succeed, want to do their best and have a clear understanding of how they contribute to the organization

  3. Plan, organize and direct the day–to–day ERP operations to maintain sufficient coverage and capacity to support business operations

  4. Participate in department, division and company strategic and tactical planning, understand and articulate company, division and department goals/objectives to employees

  5. Maintain current knowledge of technology trends and advancements to identify technology innovations that drivecompany, division and department goals/objectives

  6. Assist in the preparation and management of Information Services capital and operations budgets, and expense management

  7. Understand and comply with legal and contractual information security and privacy mandates, assist in response to disaster/availability events, security audits, vulnerability and threat assessments, and data, network or system intrusions

Systems

  1. Establish and maintain an ERP systems strategy and technology roadmap, maintain an awareness of technology trends, evaluate and recommend technologies/solutions that enhance performance and security

  2. Support JD Edwards and related technologies in an IBM iSeries backend/Windows frontend environment providinghigh performance, secure and cost-effective business solutionsand effective issue resolution

  3. Evaluate JD Edwards ASUs and ESUs for applicability and ensure required CNC activates are performed timely for production, test and development environments

  4. Function as a subject matter expert providing oversight and guidance on the evaluation, acquisition and implementation of ERP technology solutions across the enterprise

  5. Understand and apply compliance processes, procedures and standards to all ERP application development, systems and services

  6. Resolve complex user and applications issues expeditiously by providing Tier 2/3 support resources for the IS Help Desk for JD Edwards and related applications

  7. Define and document Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plans andlead response teams for disaster/availability events, security audits, vulnerability and threat assessments, and data, network or system intrusions

Development

  1. Manage and provide business/technical analysis services to ensure thorough understanding of business, project, integration, enhancement and maintenance requests

  2. Manage and provide design/development/testing services for JD Edwards and related applications using JD Edwards Development, internally developed and third-party tools

  3. Manage and provide integration services to effectively interface JD Edwards with internal, commercial and partner systems (e.g. EDI, Credit Card, Imaging, Forms).

  4. Monitor and maintain JD Edwards, commercial and internally developed applications (i.e. EDI, Credit Card, Imaging, Forms).

  5. Understand, develop and implement all aspects of data transfer and management including iSeries (physical, logical, IFS) and Windows (files, SQL) using commercial (API, FTP, SFTP, Drobox, etc.) and internally developed methods

  6. Write and maintain documentation for the development and use of application programs in accordance with company standards.

  5. Provide training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers.

  6. Complete company provided or assigned training.

  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

  8. Require occasional travel less than 15% of the time

Experience/Qualifications

Four-year college degree, or equivalent experience, and seven years of professional experience managingall aspects of JD Edwards systems, development, and related systems/technologies

Additional requisite knowledge and skills:

  • Experience leading a dispersed team supporting a multi-division ERP system

  • In-depth understanding of Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications, CNC, EDI, and related systemsin an iSeries/Windows environment

  • Experience managing ERP systems and software capacity, upgrades and vulnerabilities using best practices, advanced tools and lifecycle awareness

  • Enterprise (multi-company) security knowledge and implementation experience

  • Experiencedefining and documenting Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plans andleading response teams for disaster/availability events

  • Ability to effectively communicate with business leaders to understand and support divisional and department initiatives and goals

  • Proficiency in capital and operational budget preparation and management

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
