PREMYOM* is an ambitious 5-year project of biomedical innovation for the benefit of young people and eye health. The aim is to bring the therapeutic treatment of myopia into the era of personalization. Lead partner EssilorLuxottica is leading the adventure with 5 renowned French partners in the fields of health (Hôpital Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild), research (INRIA, Institut de la Vision, Institut Mines Télécom) and industry (start-up Insimo), at the crossroads of biology and clinical research, optics and optometry, modeling, simulation and AI, embedded devices and microstructured materials. Premyom, whose €41 million budget is co-financed by the France 2030 national plan, is recruiting talent from all these fields to enrich the community of 60 women and men committed together on a daily basis to preventing the myopia epidemic.

  • Prise en charge et Ralentissement de l’Epidémie de MYopie par l’Optique Médicale

As part of this newly created role, you will be in charge of conducting clinical experimentations in motion capture and eye tracking (patient recruitment, preparing the experimental set-up, protocol, conducting the experiments, data analysis, following clinical regulations).

You will provide scientific analyses and reports of the collected data to gain insight on postural behavior linked to eye movements.

You will be involved in the following activities on a day to day:

  • Experimental set-up combining motion capture and eye tracking to develop an eye-head-neck model

  • Conduct clinical experimentations in motion capture (patient recruitment, preparing the experimental set-up, protocol, conducting the experiments, data analysis, following clinical regulations.)

  • Provide Technical support to postdocs involved in motion capture and eye tracking experiments

  • Write reports, presentations and IP relating to the obtained scientific results

Experience, Technical Skills and Background of the Candidate:

  • Educational Background in biomedical engineering

  • Ideally around 5 years of experience in motion capture and ideally eye tracking

  • Solid experience with VICON motion capture equipment, along with NEXUS software package

  • Knowledge of mobile eye tracking with hardware and software like Pupil Labs, AdHawk

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Solid experience with Python software packages

  • Good English and French language skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills to provide support to other team members (eye tracking researchers and other researchers and scientists in the team).
